Lotus Light Agave Nectar is a thick syrup with a light fruity-caramel flavour that you can use in many ways as a sweetener or in cooking and baking or a liquid sweetener or simple sugar syrup. Our Agave Nectar comes from Mexico where it is extracted from agave plants. Made in a similar way to maple syrup the sap is first squeezed out then filtered and concentrated to a syrupy liquid. Lotus Light Agave Nectar is a suitable vegan alternative to honey. It can also be used like light corn syrup, high fructose syrup, rice malt or maple syrup. It is certified organic. Agave is about 1 1/2 times sweeter in taste than sugar, so you can use less and achieve the same sweetness in your baking and cooking.
